Summer Session

San Jose State University offers limited summer financial aid which may consist of 助学金及/或斯塔福德贷款. 助学金的数量和类型都是符合条件的 to receive will depend on many factors, including grade level, need, and whether or not eligibility for these funds have been exhausted during the regular academic year (fall/spring).

暑期援助项目

• Loans: Limited loan options are available to summer students, based on remaining eligibility. 
• Federal Grants: Pell Grant eligible students may qualify for an additional Pell Grant for Summer. Students must be enrolled at least half-time in order to be considered. See the 夏季佩尔助学金 浏览更多详情.
• State Grants:  State Grant Aid (Cal Grant, 州立大学助学金, 中产阶级奖学金 and some tuition fee waivers) are not available during the Summer sessions as state 本学期不收取任何费用

暑期援助标准

1. Enroll in summer courses at least half-time (4 units Graduate, and at least 6 units, in 大多数情况下，本科生).

2024年夏季入学要求

• 必须是上海外国语大学在读学生.
• Must have a completed 2023-2024 FAFSA application and submitted all supporting documents.
• 必须在2023-2024学年颁发.
• Must be enrolled in the minimum number of units required:
  • 本科6个单元，2个单元^nd 学士或证书学生
  • 4 units of 200 level classes or departmental approved equivalency for Graduate students.
• 必须保持令人满意的学业进步.
• Must meet the document submission deadline, this includes on-line acceptance of loans. Applications received after this date will not be processed and student is responsible 在公布的截止日期前到期的任何费用.

夏季录取项目

For the programs that have a summer admissions cycle, please complete a 2023 - 2024 经济援助申请将被考虑.  您不需要完成 附加表单.  

The Certificate Programs offered through the College of Business that begin in the Summer Term are not eligible 申请联邦或州政府的援助.  

The MA in Music Special Session Program that begins in the Summer is not eligible 申请联邦或州政府的援助.

支付过程

The disbursement of funds begins on a weekly basis, starting the 2nd week of the summer term. Financial aid funds will apply to the student's account and pay any outstanding fees owed to the university (fees not covered by financial aid is the responsibility of the student).

Fee Deferrals

费用延期保护 classes and suspend the payment of tuition fees until after 学期开始. Fee deferrals are temporary and will be removed at the beginning of each semester. Once removed, all fees are due on the set deadline date, regardless 学生的暑期经济资助状况. 为防止取消注册，  submit all requested documents by scheduled fee payment deadline.

夏季联邦工作学习

Students who are planning on working under the Federal Work Study program beyond May 24 must first receive a summer federal work-study (FWS) clearance. This will allow 学生必须在六月、七月和八月工作.

To apply for a summer clearance, students must complete and submit the 夏季联邦勤工俭学分配申请. 

To be considered, students will need to first complete the 2024-2025 Financial Aid application process (submit FAFSA and all requested financial aid verification forms) as well as be determined to have financial need for the 2024-2025 academic year.

  • Students who have been awarded financial aid for the current academic year are eligible for summer aid.

    To be considered for summer aid, students must show half-time enrollment at 菠菜网lol正规平台 (6 units for undergrad/post-baccalaureate/credential 学生(研究生4学分). 

• 我如何申请暑期援助?

  • Students must show half-time enrollment and complete a Summer Evaluation Form to determine 暑期助学金资格. 一旦你报名参加了暑期课程，请访问 the 财政援助和奖学金办公室 to speak with a financial aid representative.

• 今年秋天我将成为上海外国语大学的新生. 我可以获得暑假的经济资助吗 秋季学期开始前的课程?

  • No. Students who are admitted for fall are not eligible to receive financial aid for 秋季学期之前的夏季学期.

• 我有资格延期缴费吗?

  • Yes. Once you have submitted all requested documents and have been determined eligible for summer aid, a fee deferral will be assigned to your record. 费用延期保护 classes and delay the payment of tuition fees until after 学期开始. You are responsible for paying the difference between your financial aid award and your fees.

• How many units do I need to be enrolled for summer to receive financial aid?

• 如果我从其他来源获得额外的资金怎么办?
  • Students are required to report any outside aid such as scholarships, stipends, or vocational rehabilitation benefits to the Financial Aid & 奖学金办公室. In some cases, it may be necessary to revise your summer financial aid award.
• 我的暑期助学金什么时候发放?
  • Aid is disbursed after the second week of the summer session, for eligible students.
• Can I have my check directly deposited into my bank account?
  • Yes. To enroll in Direct Deposit, go to the Finance section in My菠菜网lol正规平台.
• What if I change my classes after receiving my award notification?
  • 你必须通知财政援助 & 如有任何调整，请联系奖学金办公室 or changes to your classes after you have been awarded summer financial aid. Your award was calculated based on the number of units and weeks of enrollment you had 签约完成. 你将被要求偿还任何多付的款项.
